Over the next few days, we'll be sharing session descriptions on the Best Practices blog to give you a taste of what you can expect September 24-25.

### Speakers: Zubin Damania, Marty Makary

Dr. Zubin Damania is joined by Johns Hopkins surgeon and Professor of Health Policy, Dr. Marty Makary to help cut through the haze of talking heads to get to an effective, evolving, and compassionate pandemic strategy, one where direct primary care and other advanced primary care models are at the center.

### About Zubin Damania

Zubin Damania, MD is UCSF/Stanford trained internist, assistant professor, comedian and the founder of Turntable Health, an innovative healthcare startup that was part of an ambitious urban revitalization movement spearheaded by Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh. As a way to address his own “burnout” and find a voice, Zubin started producing videos and live shows under the pseudonym “ZDoggMD” that have since gone epidemically viral. This launched a grassroots movement — nearly a billion views and a passionate tribe dedicated to improving healthcare for everyone.

### About Marty Makary

Dr. Makary is a healthcare futurist, Johns Hopkins surgeon, and Professor of Health Policy. Makary is a frequent medical commentator on NBC and FOX News and a leading voice for physicians, writing for the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Marty advises policy leaders at the highest levels of government on health care, leading an advocacy effort to rebuild the public trust in in the medical profession and spotlights the disruptive and new delivery models like DPC that allow clinicians to spend more time with patients to address the social, economic, and lifestyle determinants of health.
